Last night Trinity won the annual APSAA (Asia-Pacific Student Accommodation Association) award for Excellence in Student Expereince. This award is for an institution that has implemented a innovative project or initiative that has positively enhanced the student experience - either in their academic lives or personal wellbeing.
Trinity was awarded for our Bystander Traning Program, which has been a new initiative in 2018.
Congratulations to Liz Caddy, our Health & Wellbeing Counsellor, and Anni Wood, our Dean of Students, who have been integral in the inception and delivery of this program. Liz and Anni completed a U.S.-based training program to become qualified to train others in bystander intevention, then wrote and adapted a bystander training program for an Australian student context. They have put an incredible amount of work into improving and refining this program and we cannot thank them enough for thier efforts.
We are so proud to have a team that is passionate about improving student welfare through providing these types of incredibly important programs. Remember, you have the power to speak up! Don’t be a bystander, if you see something, say something!
